Born into a modest family, Ahilyabai became the ruler of the Holkar dynasty under extraordinary circumstances. After the untimely death of her husband and son at a young age, she took charge of the state and added new chapters of peace and prosperity to the history of the Malwa region for thirty years. The temples she built and restored are known to almost every Indian. Her contribution to the revival of Sanatan Dharma is unparalleled. In honor of all her virtues and achievements, this foundation has been named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
